Official Summary

Persephone often "goes along to get along" instead of doing what she really wants. But when she meets Mount Olympus Academy bad-boy Hades, she finally feels she has found someone with whom she can be herself. He’s the first person who actually listens to her, and she finds herself liking him, despite the fact that the other goddessgirls think he’s bad news. But if he makes her feel so special - and so comfortable - can he really be all that bad?

PlotEdit

Persephone often finds herself getting dragged along to go shopping with Aphrodite, or giving up her own things to help others, such as trading her nectaroni and cheese with Athena even though she does not like ambrosia chowder. It can be depicted that she is not so confident with herself, always following people's wishes without carrying out hers'. During the book she meets Hades, whom her friends and mother, Demeter, disapprove of. Hades is from the Underworld, so he is assumedly associated with being "dangerous".

As Persephone gets to know Hades, she realizes that he is misunderstood. Often bullied by other godboys, Hades sits with Zeus in the office for lunchtime, doing his homework or talking. Persephone befriends him, disobeying her mother's wishes, and shows others that Hades is not bad as they say he is. Near the end of the book Persephone run away to visit the Underworld, angry at her mother, but Hades returns her back. When entering the house, she stubs her toe and gets caught. After having a talk, Demeter finally relents, giving Persephone some independence. They make up, and she returns to her normal self, but with more confidence. She dances with Hades at the Harvest Hop.
